Administration

The Cold Springs Rancheria Administrative staff play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and sustainability of the tribe’s various programs and services. On a daily basis, they handle a wide range of support functions that are essential for maintaining organizational efficiency and effectiveness. Among these responsibilities are the management of Tribal Budgets, Financial Reporting, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Per Capita Distribution.

Moreover, the Cold Springs Rancheria Administrative team is tasked with the development and maintenance of the Tribal Membership Roll. This involves keeping accurate records of tribal members, which is essential for both administrative purposes and for preserving the integrity of tribal heritage and lineage. By carrying out these duties, the administrative staff provide the foundational support necessary for the tribe to thrive, ensuring that all services and financial operations are managed with precision and care.

Cultural Empowerment Center

Traditions Passed Forward

The CEC center is a funded subrecipient grant by Owens Valley Career Development Center. The focus of this department is purpose 3 & 4: TANF Prevention Services. OVCDC-TANF aims to strengthen all American Indian and Alaska Native families. Prevention services are offered to improve the lives of families who meet “at-risk” and/or income criteria. The Prevention Services offer a variety of programs that help develop critical decision- making skills, improve self-esteem and promote self-identity.

Health & Wellness

The Cold Springs Rancheria Health and Wellness Department is dedicated to enhancing the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being of our community members. We offer a variety of services, including:

Elder, Adult, and Youth Health & Wellness Workshops/Activities: Programs designed to promote healthy living through nutrition, exercise, and wellness programs across all ages.
Elder Support Services: Providing programs and services to support the health and well-being of elder members, including meal programs and social activities.
Youth and Family Services: Develop and implement programs targeting the health and wellness of children, adolescents, and families. Offer support services such as counseling and substance abuse prevention programs.
Physical Fitness and Recreation: Manage fitness facilities such as gyms and organize group exercise programs, including walking groups and sports activities. Encourage physical activity through community events and challenges.
Mental Health Services: Offer counseling and mental health services to address emotional and psychological well-being. Develop programs to reduce stigma around mental health issues and promote resilience.
Transportation Services: Provide transportation for community members to access health services and participate in wellness activities.
Nutrition and Food Services: Organize meal programs and nutrition education, focusing on healthy eating habits. Provide access to healthy food options through community gardens and food distribution programs.
Health Screenings and Preventive Care: Conduct regular health screenings and preventive care initiatives to detect and address health issues early. Promote immunization and preventive measures to reduce the incidence of diseases.

By fulfilling these duties, the Health and Wellness Department works to improve the overall health and quality of life for tribal members, ensuring a holistic approach that respects and incorporates cultural values and practices.

Environmental and Natural Resources

The Natural Resources Department of the Cold Springs Rancheria is dedicated to the stewardship and preservation of the tribe’s natural resources. This department focuses on protecting and enhancing the environmental quality of the tribal lands through comprehensive management programs. Funded by grants from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and other federal and state sources, including the General Assistance Program (GAP) and Clean Water Act (CWA) Sections 106 and 319, the department implements projects aimed at water quality monitoring, pollution control, and sustainable resource management. By fostering environmental sustainability and resilience, the department works to ensure the health and well-being of the Cold Springs Rancheria community and its natural surroundings.
